We are out here in the VKI Area at A 129A on Road No. 9D. It’s a big industrial patch of the city, and our place is right near the Metro Cash & Carry. That makes it a lot easier for people to give directions since everyone knows where the Metro is. Being in the VKI Area means it’s mostly warehouses and factories around us, so there is always the sound of machinery or trucks idling nearby. Mertiya And Dusad Enterprises has been in this spot for a while, and we’ve gotten used to the dust and the heat that comes with being in this part of town. The office itself is quite basic. We have a front area where we keep most of the paperwork and a back section for everything else. It’s a lot of grey concrete and metal, which fits the surroundings. During the summer, the sun beats down on the roof and it gets pretty warm inside, so we rely on the coolers to keep us from melting. We usually bring our own tiffin for lunch and eat together at the big table in the middle of the room. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do, and we don’t really need anything more than that. It’s a long commute for some of us, but we make it work every day. The tea lady comes by at eleven and four, which is always a welcome break for the whole staff.
