Automobile Nagar is a gritty part of town. It’s where the real work happens. Being a water supplier here means we are always on the move. I spend half my time in the office and the other half checking on the deliveries. The address is just listed as Automobile Nagar because everyone around here knows where we sit. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. The water cans are heavy and the trucks are noisy. I usually have a wet patch on my shirt from a splash or a leak. We have a lot of big tanks around the yard. The sun beats down pretty hard on the corrugated metal roof during the summer. I try to keep the paperwork dry, but it’s a struggle. We’ve got a small crew and we’ve been working together for a long time. We don't talk much during the rush, we just get the bottles loaded. The ground is always a bit damp, which is expected. I have a small stool I sit on when I take a break. Usually, I just watch the mechanics across the way working on the trucks. It’s a busy life but it’s what we know. We don't have any fancy office furniture, just what we need to get the water where it’s going. There’s a lot of dust from the road but we keep the water clean inside the containers.
