You can find Bhagwati Gems Jaipur at No. 332 in the Munshi Mahal building. This is right in the center of the Ramgang Bazar area. It is a very old part of the city, and our shop feels like it belongs there. We have a small space, but we make it work for everything we need to do. There are shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, packed with various things we have collected over the years. Working in the bazaar means you are part of a tight community. We know the man who sells tea and the families who run the shops next door. The building itself has a lot of history. The floors are a little uneven, and the doors can be quite creaky when the wind blows. We spend our mornings getting everything out and ready for the day. Much of the work involves sitting at a low table and inspecting the gems that come in from different places. We use old-style scales and simple tools that have been passed down. It is not a place with shiny floors or glass elevators. It is just a workspace where we get our business done. People come in to get away from the heat of the bazaar, and we always offer them a place to sit. It gets very loud outside with all the horns, but inside it is usually peaceful.
