Akshat Gems

Our place is located at No. 156 M. S. B. Ka Rasta. If you know this area, you know how narrow and crowded the lanes can get, especially during the middle of the day. Akshat Gems is just a small part of this big, busy market. We spend our hours sorting through different stones and dealing with the local traders who pass through. It is a lot of work and your eyes get tired after a while, but it is what we do. The shop is tucked away in the lane and sometimes people miss it if they are walking too fast. We have a small sign out front but it is old now. Usually, it is just me or my brother sitting inside. We have been here since the time our father ran the business. Not much has changed inside the shop since then, maybe just a new coat of paint a few years back. The floor is stone and it stays a bit cool even when the Jaipur heat is really hitting the streets outside. We don't have any air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that makes a bit of noise. People who come here are usually looking for something specific for their own work. We just show them what we have on the table and let them decide. It is a very plain way of doing business, no pressure and no loud sales talk. That is how we like it.
