Long Life Kitchen Ware

In Jamuna Nagar, Sodala, we have this shop where we keep all the things a kitchen might need. It’s at C-2, and you can’t miss the stacks of stainless steel pots and pans near the entrance. We have everything from tawas and pressure cookers to smaller items like spoons and graters. People from the colony come in when they are setting up a new house or when their old kettle finally gives out. It’s a practical shop. We don't have any of those modern minimalist displays. Instead, we stack things high so we can fit more variety. Sometimes the dust settles on the top shelves, so we have to go around with a cloth every morning. We also do some repairs, like replacing the whistle on a cooker or fixing a loose handle on a frying pan. It’s honest work. Customers usually spend a long time picking out a heavy-bottomed pot because they want it to last for years. We talk to them about which brands are sturdy and which ones might not hold up. There’s no pressure to buy the most expensive thing; we just want people to get what works for their stove at home. The street outside is usually busy with scooters, and we often have to help someone tie a big box to the back of their bike. It’s just a normal neighborhood shop.
