Kafe Orange

You can find us near Amrapali Circle at number 18 in Vaishali Nagar, which is a pretty lively area to be in. The cafe is called Kafe Orange, and yes, we have a lot of orange paint on the walls. It’s not a very big space, so it gets noisy quickly when more than a few people are talking. I spend most of my time behind the machine making coffee or cleaning up spills. People come in and sit for hours with their laptops, which can be a bit much when we have others waiting for a table. The view of the circle is nice, though the traffic noise is constant. We have some old speakers that crackle a bit, but we play music anyway to drown out the horns from outside. Sometimes the milk delivery is late and we have to scramble to find some at the local shop. It’s a lot of wiping down menus and shaking out the rugs at the end of the night. My apron is usually stained with coffee by noon. We get a mix of teenagers and older people who live in the apartments nearby. It’s not some high-end lounge, just a spot to sit and have a drink. We try to keep the plants in the window alive, but the dust from the road makes it hard. It’s just a normal daily grind.
