Our place, JORASHYA CONSTRUCTION PRIVATE LIMITED, is at 851-Rajoria Ki Dhani on the Karansar Road in Hingoniya. Being in a dhani means we are right in the middle of the community, and everyone knows everyone else’s business. It’s a bit outside the main part of Jaipur, so it’s quieter, though the trucks on the road make a lot of noise. We started this because there was always a need for someone local to handle the building work without making it too complicated. Our office is just a room with some chairs and a big table for looking at drawings. We spend a lot of time driving between Hingoniya and the various sites we have going on. The roads can be rough, especially after the rains, so we spend a good amount of time fixing our bikes and vehicles too. We don't have any corporate slogans or fancy uniforms. We just wear what’s comfortable for being out in the mud and the sun. Most of our conversations are about how many bags of cement we need or when the bricks are going to arrive from the kiln. It’s a very practical life. We like being part of this area and helping people put up their homes or shops. It’s honest work and it keeps us tired but satisfied at the end of the week. We just take things one day at a time.
