If you ever find yourself walking through Johari Bazar, you know how hectic it gets with all the people and scooters. We are right in the middle of that at Barathi Gems & Jewellery. Our shop is number 20 on Patalio Ka Rasta, which is just across from Ganesh Bhawan. It is a small place but we pack a lot into it. Dealing with gems is what we know best and we have been doing it from this same spot for a long while. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at from the outside, just a regular door in a busy lane. We spend most of our time sorting through stones or talking to the locals who drop by. Johari Bazar is the heart of the trade here, so there is always something going on outside our door. We don't use any big slogans or flashy signs to get people in. Most of the folks who come to Shop 20 are regulars who know exactly where Patalio Ka Rasta is. We keep things pretty simple here. You sit down, we show you the gems, and we talk. That is how business has always been done in this part of town. Sometimes it gets loud with the market noise, but inside the shop, we just focus on the stones and the work at hand. It is a honest way to make a living and we are glad to be part of the bazar.
