We operate out of T-83 in Narayan Vihar, over in the Mansarovar area of Jaipur. It’s a residential-style neighborhood that’s been growing a lot lately, so there’s always some construction or new people moving in nearby. Our place is pretty straightforward. We use the space to handle all our couture work, which mostly means a lot of fabric lying around and several sewing machines going at once. It’s not a big factory. It’s more of a close-knit setup where we can see what everyone is doing. Some of the tailors have been with us since we started at this address. The mornings usually start with a bit of cleaning and then we get right into the stitching. Mansarovar is a bit away from the main city noise, which is nice because we can actually focus on the details of the clothes. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; we just rely on the work we do every day. Sometimes the fabric deliveries are late or we run out of a specific thread, and we have to scramble to find it. That’s just part of the job. We keep a simple routine and try to make sure every piece that leaves T-83 is done right. It’s a honest way to make a living and we’re happy to be part of the local community here, even if the parking is sometimes a nightmare on our street.
