If you walk down Chaura Rasta, you will find us at 20-21. It is a busy street and there is always noise from the traffic outside our doors. Inside the shop, we have piles of cloth everywhere. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to move because the rolls of fabric take up so much space. We have been sitting here for years, watching the people go by. It’s mostly just us moving bolts of cotton or silk from one shelf to another. We don’t have a fancy computer system to track everything, so we just remember where we put things. Some of the patterns are old and some are new, but we keep it all together. It gets dusty sometimes with all the threads and fibers in the air. We don't really bother with big sales or loud signs. People just know we are here at Chaura Rasta. The light isn't great in the back of the shop, so we usually bring the fabric to the front door to see the real color in the sun. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people come in at once. We just spend our days measuring out meters of cloth and folding them back up. It’s repetitive work but it keeps us busy. 20-21 is our spot and we don't plan on going anywhere else soon.
