Our office is up on the second floor of Shri Shyam Tower which is right in the Bani Park area. If you know where Sikar House is, we are just a short walk from there. Being so close to Sindhi Camp means there is always a lot of noise from the buses and people rushing around to catch their rides. Downstairs there is usually a lot of traffic and motorcycles parked everywhere. Up here it is a bit quieter but you still hear the horns all day long. We have a few desks and some chairs where the drivers sit and wait for their next trip. There are maps on the wall and a bunch of keys hanging by the door. The building itself is busy with other shops and offices so the stairs stay pretty crowded. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people who need a car to go to the airport or just across town. Sometimes the tea man comes by with glasses of hot chai and we take a break. The cars are parked nearby and we try to keep them clean even though the dust in this part of town is constant. It is just a regular taxi spot where we manage the bookings and make sure someone is available when a call comes in. Most days start early and finish late. We keep a logbook on the main desk to track the trips.
