Our office is located at the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur. It’s a famous spot, but we just see it as where we go to work every morning. We handle tours around Rajasthan. This usually means a lot of phone calls with drivers and trying to figure out which hotels have space. Rajasthan is a big state, and there’s a lot of ground to cover. We spend our time planning routes and making sure the cars are in good shape for the long drives. It’s not always easy because roads can be rough and the weather gets incredibly hot during the summer. We have a small group of people here who know the different cities like Jodhpur and Udaipur quite well. We aren’t some giant travel agency; we’re just a local outfit in Jaipur. People come to us when they want to see the sights. We tell them what we know. Sometimes the schedules change because of a festival or a closed road, and we have to scramble to fix it. That’s just part of the job. Being at the palace gives us a nice place to sit, but the work is mostly logistical. We’ve been doing this for years, so we’ve seen how tourism has changed in the region. We just keep booking the trips and helping people get where they want to go. It is regular, busy work that fills our days from start to finish. We just keep moving.
