We are tucked away in Mikki Nagar, specifically behind the LIC school in Kartarpura. Being behind a school means our mornings are always marked by the sound of kids arriving and the bells ringing. It’s a bit of a hidden spot, but we like it that way. We do clothing for overseas markets, so there are always large cardboard boxes being taped up and stacked by the door. The address 8A is our main workspace. It’s a simple building where we do all the checking and packing. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights on the front. Inside, there are several long tables for sorting through the garments before they are shipped. We have to be really careful about the details because the stuff is going far away to different countries. It’s not a fancy job, but it keeps us all employed and busy. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work to keep our spirits up. The streets in Kartarpura can be narrow, so when the big trucks come to pick up our shipments, it’s always a bit of a challenge for the drivers. We have to coordinate with the neighbors to make sure nobody gets blocked in. It’s just part of the daily life here. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just making sure the clothes get to where they are going on time.
