Operating J K Steel right here in Indira Bazar on M I Road means we are always in the middle of a lot of noise and people. This part of town never seems to go quiet, and the shop is usually full of the smell of cut metal and old machinery. We have been at this spot for a while now, and the walls are a bit scuffed up from moving steel bars in and out through the narrow front door. It is not a big polished showroom or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we keep our inventory and try to stay organized among all the heavy beams. The traffic on M I Road can be a real headache when we are trying to get a delivery vehicle parked near the entrance. You have to be quick about it or the horns start blaring. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and writing down figures on scrap paper. The fans inside do not do much when it gets really hot in the summer, so we just drink a lot of water and keep at it. Most of our regulars are local builders or guys who need a bit of steel for a repair job. We know most of them by name by now. It is a simple life of handling heavy materials and making sure the counts are right at the end of every long day.
