Dudu Bagh in Loha Mandi is where we set up. It is right off S.C. Road. Being a scrap supplier means things are rarely tidy. We have piles of iron scrap everywhere at Indira Iron Scrap Supliers. It is a lot of heavy lifting and sorting through pieces of metal all day. Loha Mandi is a loud place, full of the sounds of metal clanging against metal. We have been here for years, and the neighbors are all doing similar work. We know the tea seller on the corner and the guys who drive the transport trucks. There isn't much of an "office" to speak of, just a small room where we keep the books and a few chairs. The walls are covered in dust from the scrap yard. We don't bother with fancy uniforms; we just wear old clothes that can get dirty. Most of our day is spent weighing things and moving piles around to make room for more. S.C. Road is always congested, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We are just people who know iron scrap and work hard to keep the business going. It’s a simple operation, really. No frills, just scrap and hard work every single day. We don’t have a computer system that tracks everything perfectly, but we know what we have and what it’s worth. That is how we have always done things and it works for us.
