Hari Nikhar

We’ve been here in Johri Bazar for quite a while now. If you know the area, you’ll find us right behind the Bullion Building, tucked into Haldiyon Ka Rasta. It’s a busy part of town, always a lot of movement and people passing by. We started Hari Nikhar mostly because we grew up seeing the trade around us and it felt natural to open up a spot here. Our place isn’t very fancy, just a regular shop where we keep things organized and try to keep up with the daily rush. Usually, it’s just a few of us handling the stocks and talking to whoever walks in. People come in looking for specific things, and we do what we can to help them find it. Sometimes the lane gets crowded, especially during the festival months, so it takes a bit of time to get through the crowd to reach number 197. We don’t really do much big talking or fancy displays. It’s mostly just the work that keeps us occupied from morning until we close up for the day. Living and working in this part of Jaipur means you get used to the noise and the constant activity. It’s a solid place to be. We handle the daily items, check the quality when things arrive, and make sure the accounts are straight. It’s nothing too complicated, just a local business running out of a small space in a very old, familiar market.
