AANUSHKA ENTERPRISES

If you walk down Hawamahal Road, you will see a lot of shops, and we are tucked away at Shop No. 110 on the first floor. Being in Sirhdeodi Bazar means there is always a crowd of tourists and locals passing by our door. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, but once you get up here, it is a little quieter than the street level. We have been running Aanushka Enterprises from this spot for some time now. The space is a bit cramped because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand, so you might see piles of items waiting to be sorted. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes the shop feel a bit stuffy, but we keep the fans going and just get on with the day’s work. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shopkeepers nearby and watching the traffic move toward the palace. It is a simple setup with wooden counters and some old ledgers we still use to keep track of things. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights, just the stuff we sell and a place to sit while we talk to people who come in. Most of the people who find us are looking for something specific and don't mind the climb. We usually close up when the sun goes down and the bazar starts to thin out.
