Annpurna Trading

We are located at B-26 in C Scheme, right by the Anajmandi. It’s a prime spot for trading because we are so close to the grain market. Our daily routine involves a lot of weighing, bagging, and checking the quality of whatever stock comes in. The floor is usually dusty from the sacks of grain and pulses we handle. It’s a noisy place with trucks loading and unloading right outside our door. We have a small cabin where we keep the accounts, but mostly we are out on the floor managing the inventory. The air smells like raw grain and jute bags. We’ve been part of the Anajmandi scene for years, so we know all the other traders around here. It’s not a glamorous job. We wear old clothes because everything gets covered in dust within an hour of opening. Sometimes the market prices fluctuate and we have to spend all morning on the phone talking to suppliers. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just come to the shop when they need to buy or sell. We take our tea breaks sitting on the stacks of bags while we wait for the next truck. It’s a simple way of life and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the market. We just focus on getting the orders filled and making sure the supplies are moving like they should. Every season brings something different to the market floor.
