Deewan Bartan Bhandar

Deewan Bartan Bhandar is at 170-A in Tripoliya Bazar. It’s a place full of metal and clinking sounds. We have stacks of pots, pans, and all sorts of utensils piled up everywhere. Some are shiny and new, others have been sitting on the higher shelves for a while. Tripoliya Bazar is a traditional place, and we fit right in with the other old shops. We spend our days helping people pick out the right size of cooker or a set of plates. It gets quite hot in the summer with all the metal around, but we have a couple of fans going. The floor is concrete and can get a bit tired-looking, but it holds up. We’ve seen families come in to buy things for new homes or weddings over the years. It’s a lot of manual work, moving heavy brass or steel items around. We don't have any computer systems for the stock, we just know what we have by looking at the shelves. Sometimes we have to climb up a ladder to reach something dusty from the back. It’s just how we do things here. No fancy marketing, just selling kitchenware to anyone who walks in from the street. It’s a simple business, and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time. It’s loud, it’s metallic, and it’s home for us. We just keep the inventory moving and the shop open six days a week without much fuss. We hope to stay here doing the same thing.
