D S Metal

D S Metal is located on Sansar Chandra Road at A-4. If you know the area, it’s a busy stretch of road with a lot going on. Our space is tucked in there among the other shops. We deal with various metal pieces and sheets. It’s not a very big place, but we make use of every inch of the floor. Most of the time, the air smells a bit like cold iron. We have a few guys who help with the loading and cutting. It’s noisy when the saw is running, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. The counter is right at the front where the ledger stays. We don't have a website or anything like that; people usually just walk in or call the landline. It can get a bit cramped when a big order comes in and we have to stack things near the door. The fan in the ceiling makes a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving at least. Sansar Chandra Road gets really crowded in the evenings, so we try to get most of our heavy shipping done in the mornings. There’s always someone around to help find a specific gauge of metal. It’s a simple setup. We’ve been here a long time and the shop looks like it. Everything has its place, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. We just do our work and go home to rest at the end of the day.
