Pooja Moorti Bhandar

Pooja Moorti Bhandar is located deep in Chandpole Bazar on Kalyan Ji Ka Rasta. If you know Jaipur, you know how crowded it gets here. Our shop is at number 3228. It’s a small space, but we pack it full of statues and items. Most of the work is done right here. You can usually hear the sound of tools hitting stone or metal if you walk by. It’s very dusty, and we are constantly cleaning the finished pieces so they look okay for people to see. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. It’s a family kind of thing, passed down through a couple of people. We don't use any big machines, just our hands and some basic tools. The street outside is narrow, so bikes and cows are always squeezing past. It’s loud and busy from sunrise to sunset. We don't have a catalog or anything like that. People just come in, look at what we have on the floor, and pick what they like. Sometimes we take special requests if we have the time. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We don’t have air conditioning, just an old ceiling fan that squeaks. It’s how shops have been here for decades. We are just part of the market, doing our bit every day like everyone else around us. We hope to stay here for many more years to come.
