Bharat Crockery Store

Running a shop in Mansarovar means seeing a lot of families every day. Here at the crockery store, I spend a lot of time making sure things don't break. It is a bit nerve-wracking when children come in and start running near the glass shelves. We have all sorts of things, from basic plates for daily use to those fancy dinner sets that people only take out when guests come over. The shop is filled with rows of cups, bowls, and glasses. I remember when we first set up the displays; it took forever to get everything lined up. Now, it is just a routine of dusting the items and rearranging them when something gets sold. Mansarovar is a big area, so we get people from all over the neighborhood. Some come looking for a gift for a wedding, and others just need a new frying pan because their old one burnt out. It is quiet in the mid-afternoon when everyone is at home, but it picks up in the evening. I usually sit near the door and watch the street while waiting for the next person to walk in. We don't have any big advertisements or anything. People just know we are here. It’s a quiet business, mostly just the sound of clinking glass and the murmur of people deciding between two different shades of ceramic plates. It keeps me busy enough and I like the neighborhood feel of this place.
