Down at the Siwar Mod near the Bindayaka area of VKIA, things are always moving. We have our supply yard here at Bagra Building Material & Suppliers where we keep a lot of inventory. It is an industrial part of the city, so there is a lot of dust and the sound of heavy trucks is constant. We spend our mornings checking what came in overnight and getting the orders ready for delivery. There are piles of gravel and stacks of supplies everywhere you look. It isn't the cleanest place to work, but we aren't here to look pretty. We provide the basics that construction crews need to get their jobs finished. Most of our days are spent talking to drivers and making sure the loading goes right. If the weather is rainy, everything slows down and we spend a lot of time trying to keep things dry. We’ve been at this location for a while, so we know the local roads and the shortcuts to get to building sites faster. It is a family-run kind of thing, and we all pitch in where we can. Sometimes I’m in the small office and other times I’m out back helping move stuff. It is physically demanding work, but it’s what we know. We just focus on keeping the supplies moving out the gate. The gate stays open until late in the evening most days of the week.
