If you’re driving along National Highway 8 in the Jaipur District, you’ll find Ashok Kumar Traders. We are located in Khelana Village, right in the Viratnagar Tehsil. We’re pretty close to the Bavdi Mandir, which is a good landmark for people who aren’t from around here. Being near the highway means we see a lot of trucks and travelers passing by all the time. Our place is very much a village business—practical, simple, and rooted in the local area. We deal with various goods and supplies, and our yard is usually full of whatever we are trading at the time. The dust from the highway is a constant thing, but we just wipe off the desks and keep going. We don’t have a website or any fancy advertisements. Most of our business comes from people who know us or see us as they drive past. The atmosphere here is relaxed; we take our time to talk to whoever stops by, and there’s always a spot to sit in the shade. It’s a different pace of life than in the big cities, and we prefer it that way. We just focus on the trades, keep our records in order, and watch the traffic go by on the NH8. It’s a straightforward way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now. It’s a quiet but steady existence out here for us.
