We have been at B 56 on Pareek College Road for a long time now. It’s right there on RPA Road where you can’t miss us. If you walk past, you will see the piles of sand and the bags of cement stacked up high. Most days start very early here because the trucks like to beat the morning traffic. It is a bit dusty, honestly, but that is just how it is with building materials. We spend a lot of time moving things around the yard. Sometimes the sun is really beating down on the bricks and it gets quite hot. People stop by when they are working on a small wall or maybe a bigger house project nearby. We know most of the guys who come through because they have been in the trade for years. There is always someone asking if we have enough steel rods or if the stone shipment arrived yet. It is not a fancy place. We have a small desk where we keep the ledgers and a couple of chairs that have seen better days. The phone rings a lot, usually someone checking prices or asking when we can drop off a load of gravel. We try to get things out when we say we will, though traffic on RPA Road can be a real headache sometimes. It is just us doing the daily work, making sure people have what they need to finish their jobs. You get used to the sound of shovels scraping against the ground after a while.
