Atishay Gems

You can find Atishay Gems over in Jagatpura at Nathmal Ji Ka Chowk. It’s a lively area with plenty of history. Our shop is right in the middle of it all. We have been working with gems for a long time, and this spot has served us well. The chowk is always busy, especially in the evenings when everyone comes out. Inside, we keep things pretty basic. We have our magnifying glasses, our scales, and our ledgers. We still write a lot of things down by hand because it feels more natural that way. We don't use much fancy technology. My uncle taught me how to spot a good stone just by looking at it in the sunlight. We try to pass that kind of knowledge down. It’s not a big corporate business. It’s just a local place where we know our neighbors and they know us. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it’s not too hot and watch the world go by. It’s a good life. We aren't trying to change the world or anything. We just want to keep the shop running and do right by the people who come in. Jagatpura is our home, and we plan to stay here for a long time. We have a small courtyard in the back where we sometimes wash the raw stones. The water makes the colors pop and it’s a nice part of the job. If someone wants to find us, they usually just ask around the chowk. It has worked for us so far.
