Anurag Sangeet Sansthan

Anurag Sangeet Sansthan is located in the Shastri Nagar Housing Board Colony, number 41386. This is a place for music. We don't have a big stage or anything, just a few rooms where we practice and teach. You can hear the instruments from the street sometimes. We have been here for a while and the neighbors are used to the noise. It is mostly singing and maybe some harmonium or tabla. We aren't a big corporation. It is more like a community space for people who love music. We have students of all ages. Some come after work and some are just children whose parents want them to learn a traditional skill. The rooms are simple. We sit on the floor mostly, the way it has always been done. There are some old photos on the walls of different musicians. It isn't a very formal place. We just focus on the notes and the rhythm. Shastri Nagar is a quiet colony so the music really stands out. We don't do much promotion. People find us because they live nearby or they heard someone playing. It is just a small house turned into a music school. We enjoy the daily routine of tuning instruments and going over the same scales until they sound right. It is just our way of keeping the tradition going in our little corner.
