We spend a lot of time here at C- 363 in the Seema Hotel building. Adarsh Nagar is usually busy but our spot stays focused on the work. Zari art takes a long time and your hands get tired after a few hours of looking at the small details. We have been doing this for a while now. Some days it is just the sound of the needles and other days there is a lot of talking about what needs to get done next. The building is easy to find if you know where the hotel is. It is not a fancy place but we have enough light to see the threads. Sometimes the weather makes the fabric feel different and we have to adjust how we pull the gold strings. People walk by outside and life goes on while we sit with the frames. It gets dusty sometimes because of the road but we keep the pieces covered when we are not sitting there. My coffee gets cold before I finish a section. That is just how it is when you start a pattern. We don't change much around here. The tables stay in the same place and the stools are a bit old but they work for us. We just keep doing the work day after day. It is a quiet kind of business mostly. You can see the patterns taking shape slowly over a week or two. There is always more thread to buy and more patterns to draw on the cloth.
