At Urban Tree Realty Development Private Limited, we work out of the 6th floor of Good Shepherd Square. It’s on the old number 86, along Kodambakkam High Road in Nungambakkam. Being in Chennai, the weather is almost always hot, so we rely on the AC quite a bit to stay productive. From the windows, you can see the traffic crawling along the high road, which is quite a sight during rush hour. Our office isn’t huge, but it fits our team and all the stacks of folders we seem to accumulate. We spend our mornings catching up on emails and our afternoons usually involve a lot of coordination for the various developments we are involved with. It’s a lot of back and forth, really. We try to keep things simple here. There aren’t any marble floors or expensive art on the walls, just some maps and project schedules pinned up where everyone can see them. Sometimes we order food in when it gets too busy to go down, and the elevator can be a bit slow when everyone is leaving for lunch. It’s just a group of us trying to stay on top of things in a busy city. We’ve been at this location for a while, and it’s become quite familiar, even the specific creak of the office door. We just do the work and try to get home before the traffic gets really bad.
