Somako Foods

Somako Foods is based out in Somani Puram, Gram Bardari. Being a bit further out from the main city means we have a bit more space, which is good for handling food products. The air is a bit different here, more like the countryside, and you can definitely feel the change in seasons more than in the middle of town. We spend our time managing the stock and making sure everything is packed up correctly for transport. It’s a lot of physical work, moving crates and checking labels in the warehouse area. Gram Bardari is a quiet place for the most part, except for when the delivery trucks are pulling in and out. We have a small office area where we keep the records, but most of the action happens on the floor. The floors are concrete and the lighting is just basic, nothing like those fancy offices you see in magazines. We wear practical clothes because things can get a bit dusty or messy depending on what we are processing that day. Everyone knows everyone else here, so it feels more like a community than just a company. We take our breaks together and talk about the weather or local events. It’s a straightforward life, working with food and getting it ready to be sent off to wherever it’s going next. We just keep our heads down and do the daily chores. The trucks usually arrive at dawn.
