Our place is on the first floor of Metro Tower, right at Vijay Nagar Chouraha. It’s a very busy part of town because of the Mangal City Mall being so close. Being on A B Road means there is always noise from the traffic. We spend our days up here in Plot R-102 dealing with food stuff. It’s more of a workspace than a place where people just hang out. There are lots of other offices in this building, so the elevator is always full. We get to work early to get things moving. The kitchen area stays pretty busy most of the day. It’s not a quiet job. There is always something being chopped or cooked or packed. We have a few windows that look out onto the main road, but we don't have much time to look out of them. The staff is just a small group of us trying to keep up with the orders. Sometimes the delivery guys are waiting in the hallway because we are running a bit behind. It’s just part of the routine. We don't have fancy furniture or a big lobby. It’s just a practical space where we get the work done. By the end of the shift, the floor needs a good scrub. We lock up and head out when the mall lights are already bright outside. It’s tiring, but we come back the next day and do it all over again without much fuss.
