K.B. Furniture

K.B. Furniture is located at 51, Jawahar Marg, right near Jhanda Chowk. It gets pretty loud outside with all the traffic coming through the intersection. Most days start with us opening up the shutters and dusting off the tables and chairs that sit near the front. There’s always a bit of dust because of the main road. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The space inside is filled with different pieces of wood and some finished sets waiting to go out. We spend most of our time moving things around to make room for new stuff coming in from the workshop. It’s not a fancy showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a place where you can see how things are actually made. Sometimes the tea guy from around the corner comes by and we take a quick break before getting back to measuring things or talking to people who walk in. You can hear the horns honking from Jhanda Chowk all day long, but you get used to it after a few years. We keep a ledger on the old desk near the back where we write down everything. It’s a bit messy with all the wood shavings on the floor by evening, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with furniture. Usually, by the time we’re ready to close up, our hands are tired and we’re ready to head home. It’s just a regular local business trying to get the work done right.
