Zeenath Marble Works

You can find us in Osmangunj right across from Seena Bakery. The smell of the fresh bread sometimes makes it hard to focus when we are hungry in the morning. Nizam Shahi Road is a very crowded place and there is always something happening outside the door. We work with marble here and the noise from the cutting machines is pretty much constant throughout the day. We use a lot of water to keep the blades cool and that means the floor is often a bit slippery and wet. We wear rubber boots to keep our feet dry while we work on the slabs. It is a small shop at 5-2-995/7 and every inch of space is used for something. We have scraps of marble piled up in the corners and bigger pieces leaning against the walls. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. It is just us doing the cutting and the polishing by hand. Most of our customers are people from the neighborhood who are fixing up their homes. We talk to them while the machines are off and try to understand what they are looking for. The air is always a bit damp and smells like wet stone. It is a tough job but we have been doing it this way for a long time. We just keep our tools sharp and get through the work as it comes in from the morning until we close up.
