Taj Marble Works

We are located over at Door No 5-3-953/954 on J N Road, right in the middle of the Mozamjahi Market area. It is a very old part of town and it’s always crowded with people going to the Civil Marriage Registration Office nearby. You can hear the market sounds from inside the shop all day long. We’ve been working with marble here for a long time, and the shop is full of pieces in different sizes and shapes. It’s not a modern, shiny place; it has the look of a workshop where things actually get made. We spend our time cutting and polishing the stone to fit what people need. There’s a lot of water and stone slurry around because that’s how you get a good finish on the marble. We have to be careful with the pieces because marble can be fragile if you handle it wrong. People stop in while they are doing their other shopping in the market. We just show them what we have and give them a fair idea of how long it will take to get it ready. It’s a tight space but we make it work. We like being near the registration office because it brings a lot of life to the street. We just stay busy with our tools and our stone, day in and day out. It’s a good feeling when a piece is finally finished and ready. The morning light is the best time to see the true color of a new slab.
