Sri Sai Marbles

We are Sri Sai Marbles at Plot No. 165. It's in Face 2 of Kamapuri Colony. Shri Nagar Colony is right there too. I’ve been working here for a long time now. The yard is usually full of slabs. Some are from nearby, some from further away. It's dusty, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the stone. We spend most of our time showing people the different patterns. They come in with their families, trying to pick something for a kitchen or a bathroom. Sometimes it takes them hours just to decide on one piece. We don't mind really. It’s a big decision for a house. My brother helps out with the unloading when the trucks arrive. Those days are the hardest because everything is so heavy. You have to be careful with the edges. We’ve had a few chips here and there over the years, but that’s just part of the job. The neighbors know us well. We’ve seen the colony change quite a bit since we first opened the gates here. New houses going up everywhere. It keeps us going. We usually open up early before it gets too hot. By the time evening rolls around, we’re mostly just cleaning up and getting ready for the next day. It's a simple life, honestly. Just selling stone and talking to folks who walk in off the street.
