Sri Chakri Marbles

Sri Chakri Marbles is located right across from the Hero Honda showroom in Kukatpally. It’s a landmark everyone knows, which helps since we are right there at Survey Number 420. Being in Kukatpally means there is always construction going on somewhere nearby. We see a lot of people coming in with measurements written on scraps of paper. We look through the piles of marble with them to find the right match. It is a bit of a process. Marble has all these veins and patterns that never quite look the same twice. We spend a lot of time just shifting slabs so people can see the bottom of the stack. It’s heavy work, but that is the business we chose. The yard is open to the elements, so it gets hot or wet depending on the season. We don’t mind it much. We have been running things this way for a while. No one here wears a suit. We are usually in work clothes because we are actually handling the stone ourselves. Customers seem to like that we are direct with them. We don't use big words or try to sell them something they don't need. If we have the marble they want, we tell them. If we don’t, we don’t. It’s a simple way to do business in a busy place like Kukatpally. We just keep our heads down and work. The yard stays open as long as there is light for us.
