Southern Hardware Mart

Southern Hardware Mart is located at 3-131/9 on Narsapur Cross Road. We are directly opposite the SBH Bank in Balanagar. It’s a very busy intersection, so there is always a lot of dust and the sound of horns honking. Our shop is packed with hardware of all kinds. We have stacks of PVC pipes in one corner and boxes of hinges and screws in another. It’s a bit tight moving around in there when we have a lot of stock, but we manage. The building is a simple concrete structure. We’ve been here in Balanagar for quite a long time and have seen many other shops come and go. We stay because we have a steady group of people who rely on us for their supplies. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving on hot days. We don't have a website or any of that stuff; we just deal with people face to face. Sometimes we have to climb up high on a ladder to reach things stored on the top shelves. It’s a bit of a workout every day. The counter is covered in scratches from metal tools being slid across it, but it’s sturdy. We spend most of our time just organizing the inventory and helping people find the right size of whatever they are looking for. It’s a plain business and we are fine with that. We usually keep the back door open to let in a little more light when we are working.
