Saraswati Granite & Marbles

Being out here on Nagole Ring Road means we see a lot of trucks and people passing through Uppal all day long. Saraswati Granite & Marbles has been sitting at Survey No. 460 for a while, and it’s a bit of a loud area with all the traffic. We deal with both granite and marbles, so there’s always a mix of different textures and weights lying around the place. Some of the marble is quite soft compared to the granite, so we have to be extra careful how we stack it. We spend a lot of time just moving things so people can get a better look at the patterns in the stone. It’s not a quiet job, that’s for sure. Between the noise of the road and the sound of the slabs clinking, it’s a busy atmosphere. We get people coming in who are building their first home and they aren't always sure what they need. We just show them what we have on the ground. The inventory changes depending on what arrives from the quarries. Sometimes we have a lot of one color and then it’s gone the next week. We try to keep the place tidy, but with stone dust, it’s a constant battle. We’re just regular people working here, trying to get through the day’s orders. It’s practical work. Nothing fancy about it, just slabs and hard work. We stay open until late most days just to finish up the loading.
