We are out here at Sy. No. 330/331 in Sultanpur Village. It’s part of the Patancheru Mandal area, right near Ida Bollaram. If you know the industrial zones around here, you know it’s a lot of trucks and dust. S. L. S. India Granites Pvt. Ltd. is situated where the action is. The air usually smells like stone dust and diesel. We spend our days around big slabs of granite. It is noisy work. Machines are running, and there is always the sound of water spraying to keep the blades cool. Sultanpur is a bit of a drive for some, but it’s where we have the space to move these massive stones around. We don’t have a polished front desk with someone in a suit. You’ll find us in boots and dusty clothes instead. The sun beats down on the yard, making the granite hot to the touch in the afternoons. We handle the slabs carefully because one wrong move can break a lot of hard work. People come out this way looking for specific colors or patterns in the stone. We show them what we have on the racks. It is a straightforward business. We keep track of the stock on clipboards and try to stay ahead of the orders. The road outside is usually bumpy from all the heavy traffic heading toward Ida Bollaram. It’s a busy life, but we are used to the noise and the weight of the stone. It’s just how things go out here.
