Om Marble Traders

Om Marble Traders is tucked away at Plot No 72 in Kamalapuri Colony. It’s a bit different being in a colony compared to those massive industrial zones, but it works for us. We get a lot of neighbors walking over when they’re starting a small renovation or just want to fix a broken step. The yard isn't huge, so we have to be smart about how we stack the marble. It’s a lot of moving things back and forth to show someone a piece that’s buried at the bottom of a pile. My hands are usually covered in stone dust by noon, and the tea guy knows exactly when to bring our glasses. We’ve had some of the same people working here for years, so we know our way around the different types of stone without needing to look at labels. It’s a bit cramped when a big truck tries to turn into the plot, and we usually have to help guide them so they don’t hit anything. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people usually just see the sign or hear about us from a contractor working nearby. It’s a bit of an old-school way of doing things, keeping track of orders in a notebook and making sure the customer is happy with the grain of the marble before they pay for it and take it away to their project site.
