Our place is located over at Plots 5, 6, and 7, right near the Uppal RTO office. If you're driving along the ring road from Uppal to Nagole, you can't really miss the big stacks of stone. We have a fair amount of space here, which is helpful because stone takes up a lot of room. Most days involve a lot of lifting and shifting slabs around with the crane we have. It gets loud when the trucks are coming in and out of the yard. It's not the cleanest environment, especially in the summer when the wind picks up and blows the dust around. We mostly have marble and different types of flooring materials. People come by after they finish their work at the RTO sometimes just to browse the yard. We keep the office very simple. There’s usually someone around to answer questions, though we’re often out back checking the stock. The ring road is always busy, so there’s constant noise from the cars. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time now. It’s a practical spot for us because the transport is easy for the big lorries. We handle the slabs carefully, but they are heavy and rough on the hands. You see a lot of different patterns in the stone every day. Some of it is local, and some comes from further away. It’s just us working here, making sure things get loaded correctly. It’s honest work. We don't spend much time on decorations. The stone speaks for itself when people see it piled up.
