Our place is Door No-15-7-642, right near Mitti Ka Sher in the middle of Begum Bazaar. If you know Hyderabad, you know how hectic Begum Bazaar can get. It’s always loud, there are people everywhere, and the traffic is a nightmare. But we’ve been here at Eshwar Trading Co. for a long time, so we’re used to it. The landmark Mitti Ka Sher is just a stone's throw away. Our shop is old, with high ceilings and walls that have seen a lot of history. There’s a lot of dust because of all the people and goods moving through the bazaar. We spend most of our time talking to customers and moving stock around. It’s a tight space, so we have to be careful not to trip over things. The air is thick with the smell of spices and old paper. We don't have a fancy computer system; we still write a lot of things down in big registers. It’s just the way we do things here. Sometimes we share a tea with the neighbors while we wait for a customer. The energy of the bazaar is what keeps us going, even when it's exhausting. We close up late in the evening when the crowds finally start to thin out. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s ours. We’ve been part of this market for years and wouldn't know where else to go. Begum Bazaar is in our blood now. Every morning we open up and wait for the chaos to start again. Eshwar Trading Co. is our piece of this place.
