Deccan Granites & Marbles

Our place is at 1-11-48 on Nampally Station Road. We are tucked into Chirag Ali Lane, which is a very old and crowded part of the city. Being so close to the Nampally station means there are always people walking past and the sound of trains in the distance. Deccan Granites & Marbles is a small operation compared to some of the big yards outside the city, but we like being in this central spot. The lane is narrow, so getting large trucks in and out can be a real headache sometimes. We have to time it just right or else we block the whole street. The office is small and filled with the smell of old paper and stone dust. We have been here for a long time, and the building shows its age, but it works for us. Most of the day is spent talking to customers who walk in from the street. We do not do much advertising; people just know we are here on Chirag Ali Lane. It is a busy atmosphere with a lot of tea drinking and haggling over prices. We keep our samples on display near the front so people can touch the stone. It is a bit cramped, but it feels like a proper local business where everyone knows each other.
