Mahalakshmi Granites

We’re located right on the Main Road in Chimakurthy, over in the Prakasam District. If you know this area, you know it’s famous for stone. There are lots of shops around here, but we’ve been at this spot for quite some time now. Our yard is filled with granite slabs of all different sizes. It's a dusty place, honestly, but that’s just how it is in this part of the country. We spend most of our time out in the sun, moving pieces around or showing customers what we just got in from the quarries. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. Usually, we just sit on a bench under the shade when there’s a break. People come from all over the district to find granite because this is where the good stuff is. We just sell the raw slabs as they come. Sometimes we have to help people figure out how many pieces they need for a floor, and we just do the math on a piece of scrap paper. It’s a very simple operation. We don’t do any big marketing or have a team of salesmen. It’s just me and a couple of guys working the yard. We keep the gate open from early morning until the sun goes down. That’s our life here on the main road.
