Ashok Tiles

Ashok Tiles is located right in the middle of the chaos at 69, Mubarak Bazaar. If you know Abid Road, you know how loud and crowded it gets during the middle of the day. There is always someone honking or a cart being pushed past the front door. We have been in this spot for quite some time now, and we’ve seen the bazaar change a lot over the years. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we stack the tiles. It’s a bit of a maze inside with rows of different patterns and finishes. Most of the time, we are busy answering questions from homeowners who are trying to fix up their old houses or builders looking for something specific. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is just written down in our ledgers and kept in our heads. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but we know where everything is. The shop feels old and lived in, which is just the way we like it. We drink a lot of chai to keep our energy up while moving those heavy boxes around. It is hard work on the back, but seeing a customer find exactly what they were looking for makes the day feel okay. It is just a regular shop where we do our best to stay on top of the orders.
