Ajay Tiles

Our shop, Ajay Tiles, is tucked away on a road that doesn't even have a proper name on the map yet. You find us at 5-34/278 in Cherlavancha. It can be a bit of a trick to get out here if you aren't familiar with the turns, but we have been here long enough that most locals can point you in the right direction. The yard is usually full of crates and the sound of someone moving heavy pallets around. It is dusty work and by the end of the day, our boots are usually covered in that white grit that comes off the ceramic. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights and air conditioning. Instead, we have stacks of samples leaning against the walls where people can see the colors for themselves. Usually, it's just a couple of us here helping people figure out how many boxes they need for a bathroom or a kitchen floor. We talk about the weather and the local news while we work. It’s a simple life running a tile shop in this part of town. Sometimes it gets busy with contractors, and other times it’s just quiet enough to hear the birds outside. We just keep things moving and try to stay organized even when the deliveries arrive all at once and take up all the floor space. It is a humble place but it keeps us busy.
