Our office is located up on the third floor, room 302, at 12-2-728/1. We are right there in Rethi Bowli, along the Ring Road in Mehdipatnam. The area is always crowded with cars and buses, so there is a lot of honking heard from our windows. Inside, the space is filled with desks, chairs, and stacks of files that seem to never get smaller. We spend our days talking to people who come in looking for help with their paperwork or trying to find work abroad. There are always a few phones ringing and the sound of someone typing on a keyboard. We keep a water dispenser in the corner for anyone waiting their turn. It is not a flashy place with marble floors; it is just a functional office where we try to get things done. We have calendars on the walls to keep track of deadlines and appointments. Mehdipatnam is a central spot, so we see people from all walks of life walking through the door. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, and we have to walk the stairs, which is a bit of a workout. We try to be straightforward with everyone who comes in, explaining what documents they need or how the process works. It is mostly about managing expectations and keeping all the folders organized so nothing gets lost in the shuffle. We stay open until the evening when the Ring Road traffic gets even heavier and the street lights come on.
