Our shop, Paints And Hardware, is located at P-1 on Natabar Paul Road in Belgachia. It’s a busy corner and the shop is usually packed with tins of paint stacked all the way to the ceiling. We have been here quite a while, and the floor is a mix of different colors from all the spills over the years. We sell everything from basic brushes to heavy-duty bolts. It is a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand. You have to watch your step so you don’t trip over a bucket or a bag of cement. Most mornings start with us moving the display items out onto the sidewalk to make some room. We get a lot of local homeowners coming in for things they forgot, like a specific size of washer or a small jar of wood stain. We don’t do any of that fancy computerized color matching, we just know our stock and help people find what they need by looking through the shelves. Sometimes it takes a minute to find the right drawer for a specific screw. The fan overhead rattles quite a bit, but it helps with the smell of the oil paints. It’s a typical local hardware store where things are a bit messy but we know where everything is kept. No big corporate vibes here, just a lot of stuff on shelves and a lot of talk about home repairs.
