Majestic Caterer

Majestic Caterer is located at 626/1/2/5 Sarat Chatterjee Road. We’re pretty close to Mandirtala, which is a good landmark if you’re looking for us in Howrah. The kitchen gets really hot, especially during the big lunch rushes. We started this because we liked to cook, but now it’s mostly about managing the pots and making sure the groceries show up on time. It’s a lot of early mornings. I usually get here before the sun is up to check the vegetables. The traffic on Sarat Chatterjee Road can be a nightmare in the afternoons. We have a small team, mostly people from the neighborhood who have been with us for years. We don’t really have a website or anything. We just write the menus on a chalkboard sometimes. Cleaning the big vats takes forever. Sometimes we run out of something and have to run down the street to grab it. It’s a bit chaotic but it gets the food out. We’ve done plenty of weddings and small gatherings nearby. We just focus on the stove and the salt. If the food is okay, people come back. That’s how we see it. No need for big speeches about what we do. We just cook and clean up after. The knives need sharpening every few days and the floor is always a bit slippery from the steam. We just keep our heads down and keep the fire going until all the orders are finished.
