If you are looking for India Pattern Works, we are at Plot No. 24/3 on Gopal Ghosh Lane in Salkia. We are right near the Dharma Talab Bazar, so it’s always lively around here with people buying their groceries and going about their day. Our shop is an old-fashioned kind of place. We’ve been making patterns for years and we haven't changed the way we work much. We still use the same kinds of tools that have worked for generations. The air in the shop always smells like cut wood and glue. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit tight when we have a big project going on, but we make it work. We don't have a big mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just wake up, come to the shop, and get to work on whatever is on the bench that day. Customers usually come in with a sketch or an old part and ask us to replicate it. We take our time to make sure it’s right because that’s what matters in this trade. We are just local people working in Salkia. We know the shopkeepers nearby and we feel like a part of the community here. It’s not a complicated business, just a lot of hard work. Sometimes the lane gets flooded when it rains heavily, but we still manage to stay open.
